Terms of Service
Legal version: 2026-06-05
These Terms of Service govern your use of Triangulate, including the website, app, events, gameplay features, leaderboards, and related services. By using Triangulate, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, and in particular the sections on real-world safety, the disclaimer and assumption of risk, and our limitation of liability, which limit our responsibility to you.
Triangulate is provided by Ziv Lazar LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at 15 Crusoe Mews, London, N16 0BQ, United Kingdom. In these terms, "Triangulate", "we", "us", and "our" mean Ziv Lazar LTD, and "you" means the person using Triangulate.
1. What Triangulate is
Triangulate is a team-based outdoor map game. Each team has three player slots. A slot can be filled by an outdoor real player or an AI player.
Outdoor players move using live device location. AI players are computer-controlled players provided by Triangulate. Solo play is a separate single-player practice scenario.
The main way to start a game is play a game. The lobby lets players build an outdoor team, invite friends, find teammates, add AI, and choose a rival type. Rival: Local | Country | Global | AI may be available as the rival choice.
2. Who we are
Triangulate is operated by Ziv Lazar LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 15 Crusoe Mews, London, N16 0BQ, United Kingdom. If you need to contact us about these terms, please use the details in the Contact section below.
3. Children and parents
Triangulate is intended for a general audience and is not aimed at young children. You must be at least 13 years old to use Triangulate. If you are under 18, you may use Triangulate only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether a child may play Outdoors, and for supervising that play.
We design Triangulate with the interests of younger users in mind, in line with the Information Commissioner's Office Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code). This includes privacy-protective defaults, collecting only the data we need, and keeping precise location switched off until a player chooses to play Outdoors.
Outdoor play uses live location and may involve real-world movement. Children should be supervised appropriately when playing Outdoors.
4. Playing Outdoors
Outdoors players move using live device location.
To play Outdoors, you must:
- have permission to use the device location features;
- enable the required location permissions;
- use Precise Location where required;
- play in a safe and lawful place;
- stay aware of your surroundings;
- obey local laws and rules;
- avoid roads, traffic, dangerous areas, restricted areas, and private property;
- stop playing if it is unsafe to continue.
Triangulate may block or pause outdoor play if GPS is unavailable, inaccurate, unstable, or appears to be manipulated.
5. Real-world safety
Triangulate is a game, not a navigation app and not a safety app. It is not a navigation service, a mapping or routing service, a safety guide, an emergency service, or an instruction to enter any location. You must not rely on Triangulate for directions, for the accuracy of any map, route, or position, or to keep you safe.
You are solely responsible for your own conduct, decisions, movement, and safety whilst playing Outdoors, and for the safety of anyone in your care. You must use your own judgement about where it is safe and lawful to go.
You must not:
- trespass;
- enter unsafe places;
- enter restricted areas;
- play while driving;
- play while cycling in a way that distracts you;
- cross roads without care;
- ignore signs, barriers, weather, traffic, people, animals, or other real-world risks.
If the game map, route, arena, marker, or objective appears to direct you somewhere unsafe, unlawful, or restricted, do not go there. Always prioritise your safety and the safety of others over gameplay.
6. Disclaimer and assumption of risk
You play Triangulate at your own risk. Outdoor play takes place in the real world, in public and shared spaces that we do not own, operate, control, inspect, or monitor. Conditions in those spaces, including other people, traffic, terrain, weather, wildlife, and hazards, are outside our control.
By choosing to play Outdoors, you acknowledge and accept the ordinary and inherent risks of moving around outdoors, including the risk of injury, accident, loss, or damage, and you agree that you take responsibility for assessing those risks before and during play.
Triangulate is provided for entertainment only. Nothing in the app is advice, a recommendation, or an assurance that any place, route, or activity is safe, lawful, accessible, or suitable for you. The map, place data, and event information are drawn in part from third-party and open-data sources and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
Nothing in this section limits the rights you have where the law does not allow them to be limited, including in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence (see the limitation of liability section below).
7. Events, meet-ups, and third parties
Triangulate may let players plan or join events and meet-ups at real-world places. We are not the organiser, host, promoter, or supervisor of any event, gathering, match, or meet-up, and we do not run, staff, steward, or provide any live event. The person who sets up an event in the app is a regular participant who chose a time and place; they are not our agent and are not an organiser, host, or official on our behalf.
Venues, parks, facilities, and locations shown in the app are operated by third parties under their own rules. You are responsible for checking and following the rules, opening hours, access conditions, and safety requirements of any place you visit, and for your own conduct and safety at any event or meet-up. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, services, or safety of any venue, event participant, or other third party.
You must not trespass on, or encourage others to trespass on, private property in order to play or to reach a place shown in the app. If you are a property owner or occupier and a place or event appears on or near your property, you may ask us to remove or adjust it using the contact details below, and we will review your request and act on it where appropriate.
8. Teams and arenas
A match uses one shared outdoor arena based on the real-world area of the outdoor player or players.
If multiple outdoor players are too far apart to share one arena, the lobby may block match start and ask the team to move closer or add AI.
Solo play uses a local practice arena and does not count toward public scores, wins, streaks, leaderboards, or team statistics.
9. AI players and AI rivals
AI players are computer-controlled. AI players may fill friendly slots or rival teams. Real rival availability is not guaranteed, and AI rival fallback may be offered.
10. Rival teams
Rival scope may be Local, Country, Global, or AI. A real rival team may not always be available. If no real rival is available, Triangulate may offer an AI rival.
11. Unranked AI and solo play
Games with AI players and solo practice are unranked in this version.
This means those matches do not submit:
- leaderboard scores;
- public wins;
- public losses;
- streaks;
- public team statistics.
We may still record internal match information to test fairness, improve gameplay, fix bugs, and understand whether AI and solo play are working properly.
12. Fair play
You must play fairly.
You must not:
- spoof GPS;
- fake location data;
- use modified clients;
- use unauthorised bots or scripts;
- exploit bugs;
- interfere with another player's device, account, or marker;
- use multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage;
- manipulate matchmaking;
- abuse invite codes;
- attempt to bypass role rules.
We may cancel a match, block a player from starting, remove match results, restrict features, or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to protect safety, security, or fair play.
13. Anti-cheat and automated checks
To keep play fair and safe, we run automated checks on gameplay and location-quality signals, for example to detect GPS spoofing, impossible movement, or abuse. These checks may automatically pause your play, freeze your marker, block a match start, or remove a result.
These checks are necessary to provide a fair game and to protect other players. Where an automated decision has a significant effect on you, you can ask us to review it and you can ask for a person to look at it. Your data-protection rights in relation to automated decisions are explained in our Privacy Policy.
14. Your content and online safety
Triangulate may let you submit nicknames, event details, messages, feedback, or other content. You keep ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sub-licensable licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt, and share that content for the purposes of operating, securing, improving, and promoting Triangulate.
You must have the right to share any content you submit, and it must not be unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, misleading, infringing, or otherwise in breach of these terms. You must not use Triangulate to share illegal content or content that is harmful to others, in particular to children.
We may, but are not obliged to, review, moderate, remove, or restrict content and accounts, and we may report unlawful content or conduct to the authorities, in line with our obligations as an online service. If you encounter content or behaviour that breaches these terms, you can report it to us using the contact details below.
15. Intellectual property and trade marks
All intellectual property rights in Triangulate, including the app, the website, the game design, software, source and object code, graphics, artwork, sounds, text, look and feel, databases, and branding, are owned by or licensed to Ziv Lazar LTD and are protected by copyright, database rights, trade mark rights, and other laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable, revocable licence to use Triangulate for your own personal, non-commercial play, in accordance with these terms.

We expressly reserve our rights in this regard, including under Article 4 of the Digital Single Market Directive and any equivalent United Kingdom provision;

16. Changes to the service
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of Triangulate at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.
17. Our responsibility and limitation of liability
Triangulate is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, conditions, or representations, whether express or implied, about the service, its availability, accuracy, completeness, security, or fitness for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with:
- your use of, or inability to use, Triangulate;
- unsafe, unlawful, or careless play, including any injury, accident, loss, or damage that occurs whilst playing Outdoors;
- reliance on any map, route, position, marker, arena, place data, event information, or objective shown in the app;
- any event, meet-up, venue, or location, and the acts or conduct of other players, event participants, or third parties;
- third-party services, networks, devices, or open-data sources;
- any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Where we are liable to you and that liability is not excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with Triangulate and these terms is limited to one hundred pounds (£100), reflecting that Triangulate is provided to you free of charge.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or other applicable law. These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, which always apply.
18. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in providing Triangulate that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including network or device failures, outages of third-party services or data sources, acts of God, severe weather, or other circumstances we could not reasonably foresee or prevent.
19. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for, and to reimburse us for, any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable expenses that we, our directors, officers, or agents suffer to the extent they are caused by your breach of these terms, your unlawful or unsafe use of Triangulate, or your infringement of the rights of any other person. This does not apply to loss caused by our own breach or negligence, and nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
20. Suspension and ending access
We may restrict, suspend, or end access where reasonably necessary to protect safety, security, fair play, the service, or other players.
21. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we publish a new legal version. Your consent record stores the legal version you accepted.
23. General
Severability. Each provision of these terms operates separately. If any provision is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision is to be treated as deleted or read down only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
No waiver. If we do not insist that you perform any of your obligations, or if we delay in taking action against you, that does not mean we have waived our rights or that you do not have to comply.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of Triangulate, and replace any earlier terms. Nothing in this section limits any liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation, for example if our business is reorganised or sold, and your rights under these terms will not be affected.
Third-party rights. Except that our directors, officers, and agents may rely on the limitation of liability and indemnity sections, a person who is not a party to these terms has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of them.
Survival. The sections on disclaimer and assumption of risk, intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, and this General section continue to apply after you stop using Triangulate.
